Departure from Heraklion port and sail along the Cretan coast down to Elounda bay. Once we reach Elounda bay we take a tour around the historical Spinalonga and we spend the afternoon swimming at one of the beautiful beaches in the bay called Kolokytha. There you can swim out and take a walk to the beautiful Byzantine church of “Agios Fokas”.
The boat will overnight in the marina of Agios Nikolaos, one of the most attractive resorts where we have prime position to immerse ourselves in the atmosphere of restaurants and cafes.
Early in the morning we depart for a cruise along the exotic beaches and landscapes around the gulf of Mirabello. Some of the beaches that we will visit are Agriomandra, Karavostasi, Voulisma, Ammoudara and Istron where you can swim or even have lunch at a local restaurant outside. For our second night we also stay along the town in the marina of Agios Nikolaos where you can take a walk out and explore the cosmopolitan city.
We leave Agios Nikolaos in the morning and the boat starts its way back to Heraklion, stopping for a swim break or even lunch at one of the pretty coastal beaches. We arrive in Heraklion late afternoon. Enjoy the view of Koules fortress as we sail into port. We spend the last night in Heraklion port. The traditional restaurants with the Cretan atmosphere and the late night hang-outs wait for you to keep you awake into the early hours.
It is time to say goodbye.
Hope that you had a wonderful time and hope to see you again on Avanti Sailing!
